PROTECT®Fresh Bait for Mouse and Rat Control
PROTECT® Rodenticide Fresh Bait is a ready-to-use anticoagulant rodenticide based on bromadiolone.
The bait is supplied in 10 g paste sachets made of filter paper, allowing rodents to detect the attractive odour without opening the sachet.
The product contains a bittering agent, denatonium benzoate, to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion by humans.

Preparation before use
Before placing the rodenticide, assess rodent presence by looking for burrows, tracks, droppings and damage.
Evaluate the level of infestation.
Where possible, consider alternative control methods that do not involve rodenticides.
Seal burrows and openings.
Remove accessible food and water sources.
Do not use for preventive purposes or rodent activity monitoring.
Bait preparation
Do not open the filter paper sachet.
Place the sachet inside a lockable, tamper-resistant bait station.
Bait stations are not included in the package.
The use of a secure and durable bait station, such as Multibaiter® or an equivalent, is recommended.
Sachets may be secured inside the bait station using rods or nails.
The following information should be clearly displayed on the bait station:

Application rates
For rat control:
Low infestation: 100 g (10 sachets) every 10 metres.
High infestation: 100 g (10 sachets) every 5 metres.
For mouse control:
Low infestation: 40 g (4 sachets) every 10 metres.
High infestation: 40 g (4 sachets) every 5 metres.
Bait placement
Place bait stations along walls, behind furniture and underneath cupboards.
Position bait stations along rodent runways and near harbourage sites.
Secure bait stations whenever possible.
Protect bait stations from water and adverse weather conditions.
Place bait stations out of reach of children and pets.
Inspection frequency
For mouse control, inspect bait stations after 2–3 days and thereafter at least once a week.
For rat control, inspect bait stations after 5–7 days and thereafter at least once a week.
Replace bait when consumed.
If bait remains untouched, relocate the bait station.
Initial results are usually observed within 3–5 days.
Complete control of the infestation is generally achieved within 2–6 weeks.
If no improvement is observed after 35 days, contact a professional pest control operator.
No later than 6 weeks after placement, remove bait stations and any remaining bait.

First aid
If swallowed, rinse mouth with water.
Do not induce vomiting.
Seek medical attention immediately and show the product packaging.
In case of skin contact, wash with water and soap.
In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes.
Antidote: Vitamin K1 (to be administered only by medical or veterinary personnel).

Waste management
Collect dead rodents regularly.
Wear protective gloves.
Place rodents in a double plastic bag and dispose of them with household waste.
Unused product should be delivered to a hazardous waste collection facility.
Storage
Store in the original unopened packaging.
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
Protect from direct sunlight.
