MAGNUM®ant control product

Ready-to-use insecticidal bait gel for ant control in a syringe or cartridge.

The product is applied in drops or lines in areas where ant activity has been observed.


Product description

The insecticide is intended for the control of adult ants.

Effective against:

Pharaoh ants — Monomorium pharaonis.

Argentine ants — Linepithema humile.

Black ants — Lasius niger.

The gel is applied in places where ants have been seen, for example, along ant trails or near their nests.

The product contains a bittering agent — 0.008% Bitrex®, making it unpleasant for humans and pets.

Near buildings.

The product is intended for trained professionals, professional users and non-professional use by the general public.

Imidacloprid — 0.1 g/kg (0.01%).

Application rates and frequency

Application rate: 0.2 g/m².

1 drop or a 3 cm long line ≈ 0.2 g of bait gel.

Check the application areas after 7 days.

If the bait has been consumed, apply it again.

Treatment may be repeated three months after the end of the infestation.


Instructions for use

Always read the label or the accompanying instructions before use.

After a thorough inspection to determine the level of infestation, place bait points in areas where ants have been seen.

Apply the gel:

In ant nests.

Along ant trails.

In cracks and crevices.

In places where ants enter the building.

Outdoors, apply the product in places where ants may be present, for example:

In eaves.

In cornices.

In places where wires or pipes enter the building.

On terraces, in yards and gardens.

Remove alternative food sources from the treatment area, as they may compete with the bait.

Before using the product, it is recommended to wash hands to avoid contaminating the bait with strong odours, such as tobacco.

Do not spray or fog other insecticides near the bait, as this may reduce the attractiveness of the bait to ants.

Do not apply on wood or porous surfaces.

If necessary, place the gel on a non-porous support, such as a plastic plate.

Check the application areas regularly.

Outdoors, if the product is affected by rain, sunlight or dirt, it must be reapplied.

Product effectiveness: more than 90% ant mortality within 15 days.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Prevent children and animals from coming into contact with treated areas.

Use in areas not subject to frequent cleaning.


Safety precautions

Do not use the bait in areas recently treated with other insecticides.

To prevent the development of resistance, use the product alternately with other products containing a different active substance.

Use the product only at the recommended rates and intervals.

Avoid release of the product into drains, watercourses or soil.

When using near buildings, do not apply next to drainpipes.

If the area is connected to a rainwater drainage system, use the product only in areas not subject to flooding or rainwater exposure.

Apply the product in a way that minimises the risk of ingestion by children or animals.


Additional instructions for professional users

The product must not be used on surfaces where:

Food is prepared.

Food is consumed.

Food or animal feed is stored.

The product may be used in the food industry only in the absence of food, except in warehouses with properly packaged products.

Take the necessary measures to ensure that food and equipment do not contain residues of the active substance.

If treatment is not effective, inform the authorisation holder, as this may indicate the development of resistance.


Instructions for non-professional and professional users

Do not use on surfaces or objects that may come into contact with food or animal feed.


First aid

If in eyes, rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

If contact lenses are present, remove them before rinsing.

If on skin, wash with soap and plenty of water.

If necessary, take the affected person to hospital and show the product label or packaging.

Do not leave the affected person unattended.

Environmental protection

Prevent the product from entering:

Drains.

Surface waters.

Groundwater.

Soil.

Collect spilled product with a damp disposable cloth and dispose of it with household waste.

If the product enters water, limit its spread and collect it in accordance with local regulations.


Storage

Store in the original packaging.

Keep tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Recommended storage temperature: from +5 °C to +45 °C.
