Brodifacoum (CAS No. 56073-10-0) – 0.005 g (0.05 g/kg)

Denatonium benzoate – 0.001 g

Food attractants and co-formulants – up to 100 g.

Product characteristics

BRODY is a ready-to-use anticoagulant rodenticide bait based on brodifacoum in the form of wax blocks.

Effective against:

House mouse (Mus musculus);

Brown rat (Rattus norvegicus);

Black rat (Rattus rattus).

Effective after a single ingestion.

Anticoagulant rodenticides act within 4–10 days after bait consumption.

The product consists of attractive wax blocks (20 g each).

Contains a bittering agent and dye to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion by children.

Suitable for use in:

Industrial buildings;

Warehouses;

Retail premises;

Cargo holds of ships;

Residential buildings;

Cellars;

Garages;

Storage rooms;

Gardens and associated outdoor areas.

Method of use

Ready-to-use bait in the form of wax blocks.

Use only in:

Properly labelled tamper-resistant bait stations;

Covered and protected baiting points.

Bait stations must be protected against:

Weather conditions;

Access by non-target animals;

Release of bait into the environment.

Directions and warnings

Survey the infested area before treatment.

Identify rodent species and infestation level.

Remove easily accessible food sources.

Do not clean the infested area immediately before treatment.

Use within an Integrated Pest Management programme.

Place bait stations:

Along rodent runways;

Near burrows;

At nesting sites;

At feeding places.

Secure bait stations to the ground or structures where possible.

Public areas must be clearly marked with poisoning warnings.

Do not use as a permanent bait.

Do not use for pulse baiting.

Do not use for more than 35 days without evaluating efficacy.

If control is unsuccessful, consider possible resistance.

Application rates

Indoors

Brown and black rats:

High infestation – 100 g (5 blocks) per bait station.

Low infestation – 60 g (3 blocks) per bait station.

House mice:

40 g (2 blocks) per bait station.

Outdoors around buildings

Use the same application rates.

Use only in covered and protected locations.

Do not place directly into burrows.

Do not place near drains or water bodies.

Risk mitigation measures

Do not use in areas suspected of resistance.

Do not wash bait stations with water between treatments.

Collect dead rodents regularly.

Dispose of waste according to local regulations.

Collect uneaten bait at the end of the treatment.

Information for medical personnel

Contains an anticoagulant.

Symptoms may appear with delay:

Nosebleeds;

Bleeding gums;

Bruising;

Blood in urine or faeces.

Antidote:

Vitamin K1 (to be administered only by medical or veterinary personnel).

Skin contact: wash with soap and water.

Eye contact: rinse for at least 10 minutes.

If swallowed: do not induce vomiting and seek immediate medical attention.

If ingested by animals, contact a veterinarian.
