Area of use
The product is intended for the control of brown rats (Rattus norvegicus):
Indoors.
Outdoors in the immediate vicinity of buildings.
Instructions for use
Before using the rodenticide, place the product in areas where rat presence has been observed, such as near nests, burrows, movement routes, droppings or gnawing damage.
Assess the level of infestation and choose the appropriate control measures.
Before using the product, consider whether the infestation can be eliminated without a rodenticide, for example, by using traps.
Use the rodenticide only when justified.
Do not use for prevention or for detecting rodent activity.
Actions before starting control
To improve effectiveness and prevent reinfestation, it is recommended to:
Seal holes and burrows.
Remove accessible food, such as food waste and spilled grain.
Eliminate accessible sources of liquid.
When placing the rodenticide, do not completely clean the infested area, as this may disturb rodent behaviour and make bait uptake more difficult.
Preparation before placing the bait
Place the sachets in a lockable, tamper-resistant bait station.
The bait station is not included in the packaging.
It is recommended to use Multibaiter® or an equivalent bait station.
One bait station may contain the maximum amount of bait according to the specified dose.
If possible, secure the filter paper sachets inside the bait station with rods or nails.
Keep the product packaging until the end of the treatment.
Labelling on the bait station
The bait station must be clearly labelled with the following information:
WARNING! CONTAINS RODENTICIDE!
DO NOT TOUCH / MOVE / OPEN!
In case of an accident, contact the Poison and Drug Information Centre: 67042473.
PROTECT® rodenticide bait.
Active substance: 0.0027 % bromadiolone.
Bait placement
Place the bait station in areas visited by rats, such as near movement routes and shelter areas.
Make sure that the bait station is inaccessible to children, pets, farm animals and wild animals.
Where possible, secure the bait station.
Protect the bait station from rain, water and adverse weather conditions.
The rodenticide may only be used in a closed bait station.
Application rates
Application rate: 100–150 g per bait station.
If several bait stations are required, the distance between them should be:
7 metres in case of high infestation.
10 metres in case of low infestation.
Inspection and control
At the beginning of treatment, check bait points every 5–7 days.
After that, check at least once a week.
If the sachets have been consumed, place new ones.
Remove and replace contaminated or damaged rodenticide and its packaging.
If the bait is constantly being consumed, create more bait points.
If the sachets remain untouched but rodents are still active, move the bait station to another location.
Rodent death usually begins 3–5 days after bait consumption.
The infestation is usually eliminated within 2–6 weeks.
If the situation does not noticeably improve after 35 days, contact a professional pest control specialist.
